The Alpine Cols programme, 2022
GranFondo & Sportive Coaching Camp, Tenerife
29 Jan to 05 Feb, 2022 – ONLY 4 PLACES LEFT
The best way to start the season! This is a true coaching camp, with a strong focus on technique. The coach to rider ratio is 1:5 or better, and you can join evening Coach’s Corner sessions on topics such as the use of power, training plans and tips for riding sportives. The focus is on technique, not pace, and the rides are not intended to be hard, but to teach you the skills needed to ride faster, safely later in the season. Different groups will form so that you are with people at your own level.
We use two outstanding boutique hotels in different parts of the island, well away from the main tourist centres. During the week you will cycle the best roads on the island, including of course the incredible climb from sea-level to Mount Teide!
Mont Ventoux and the Luberon
08 May to 14 May, 2022 – PLACES AVAILABLE
Climb Mont Ventoux multiple times and explore the stunning scenery of the Baronnies Provençales and the Luberon. This is truly a cyclist’s paradise, with countless options, and we can adjust the amount of climbing to suit your current level. You will ride at your own pace and different groups will form so that you are with people at a similar level.
Coaching is available (at no extra cost) for those who want to improve their technique for GranFondos or sportives later in the season. If you are up for the challenge, join the Club des Cinglés du Mont Ventoux by climbing the famous mountain three times in the same day, once by each of the three routes. The distance is 137 km and the total climbing 4,400m. We will be delighted to support you in your attempt!
GranFondo & Sportive Coaching Camp, La Clusaz

Our La Clusaz coaching camp is designed as the best possible preparation for later objectives like the Marmotte or the Tour du Mont Blanc. Improve your skills on iconic climbs like the Colombière, the Aravis, the Glières and the Croix-Fry, and test yourself on the amazing col de la Loze! Different groups will form so that you are with people at your own level.
The coach to rider ratio is 1:5 or better, ensuring that you will have plenty of one-on-one coaching. There is a strong focus on technique with plentiful use of video for analysis and feedback. You can have a daily debrief with a coach and you join evening Coach’s Corner sessions on topics such as the use of power, training plans and tips for riding sportives.
Route des Grandes Alpes
19 Jun to 26 Jun, 2022 – SOLD OUT
24 Jul to 31 Jul, 2022 – PLACES AVAILABLE
After Geneva to San Remo in 2021, we come back to the classic Route des Grandes Alpes in 2022. We will start on the shores of Lake Geneva and head south for 7 days, finishing in Menton. Each stage will follow the usual route (the Standard option), while offering a chance to spice it up with extra distance and climbing (the Challenge option).
The standard group will ride an average of 100km/2,500m+ each day. The Challenge option will typically include an extra 20-30km and 750-1000m+. Both groups will be fully supported. As always with Alpine Cols, we will stay in beautiful hotels and eat wonderfully well. It is not a coaching camp, although tips and support are always available on request, at no extra charge.
Discover the Pyrenees
04 Sept to 10 Sept, 2022 – PLACES AVAILABLE
Our final cycling tour of the year is all about enjoying the best of the Pyrenees. The first part of the week will be based in a delightful hotel in Argelès-Gazost, the perfect base for the best of the Pyrenees. From here we will climb the Tourmalet, the col d’Aspin, the Soulor, the Aubisque, the Hourquette d’Ancizan, Luz Ardiden, Hautacam and a few less-know gems (Spandelles, Couraduque).
For the last couple of days we will transfer to a second location – probably Bagnères de Luchon – to allow us to tackle climbs such as the Port de Balès, the col de Menté and the col de Peyresourde. As always, we choose the most comfortable hotels and make sure we enjoy outstanding local delicacies during our meals. Coaching is available (at no extra cost) for those who want to improve their technique.
